Keira Knightley is wise

Keira Knightley shared some pearls of wisdom during an interview with UK's Radio Times. On looking good "Somebody goes, 'Gosh, you're pretty.' Thanks. I've got good genes! OK, I'm on the cover of a magazine but somebody else does the hair, and the makeup, and airbrushes the fuck out of me – it's not me, it's something other people have created." On being rich and famous"It frightens me when kids go, 'I want to be famous.' Why? Because you can get into a restaurant? You know what? If you book [a table], you can get into a restaurant! 'I want to be rich and famous.' Go and work on the stock market." On suing Britain's Daily Mail for suggesting she had an eating disorder"You couldn't say anything more horrendous. So yes, I did take a hard line, and I would take that line again." So Keira Knightley's advice for people who want to be rich and famous is to go into the stock market. Brilliant brilliant stuff. I mean, Hollywood, stock market, they're basically the same thing. It's like telling somebody who dreams of being an astronaut to get a job at Costco. Because, you know, they sell telescopes. Same thing!

Looks like, Cameron Diaz and John Mayer getting serious

Due to sheer grossness, I shouldn't even be covering this, but People is reporting that John Mayer and Cameron Diaz are becoming a serious item:

The pair, who were first spotted out together in the city last week, were ‘all over each other’ and ‘super flirty’ at the Bowery Hotel Friday night. Asked if the newly-close pair are dating, a source close to Mayer tells People, ‘Yes, it's definitely true.’

When two ugly people get together, does anyone really care? You have John Mayer, the bridge troll of modern pop. Then there’s Cameron Diaz, who I’ll assume fell asleep under a steam-roller because I don’t know how else to explain her face. It’s like watching a hunchback make-out with a pancake wearing lipstick. But without the chance that Aunt Jemima will make it a sexy, syrupy three-way. Damn. I just made breakfast totally hot. Kind of makes you want to get it on with your coffee, doesn’t it? But don’t! It'll burn - like sex with Cameron Diaz. Zing! Did you see what I just did there? That's cohesion, son. Feel free to call me the Jesus of words. Wow, whoever her make-up artist is deserves at least five Oscars and the Congressional Medal of Honor because here's Cameron looking uncharacteristically good on the set of What Happens in Vegas. A ton more after the jump.

Lauren Conrad is overpaid

E! Online’s Answer Bitch provided a ball-park estimate of reality star incomes, including Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag from MTV's series The Hills:

Well, Lauren "L.C." Conrad does get to operate ongoing hot war with Heidi Montag in the pages of Us Weekly every week, free of charge. If that's not a fine compensation, I don't know what is. Oh, wait. Yes, I do. How about an estimated $10,000 to $25,000 per episode? That's the general industry range for top reality stars such as Conrad, Montag, wannabe K-Fed or Spencer Pratt.

Lauren Conrad makes ten to fifteen grand for sipping lattes, talking on her phone and teaching teenage girls how to butcher the English language. I, on the other hand, receive no compensation for being so unbelievably sexy that my looks actually fight cancer. There is no God.

Isn't Hafdis Huld Adorable...?

No, that’s not Zooey Deschanel, but they do both have a similar playful, quirky ingenue vibe. Her name is Hafdis Huld, and she’s adorable! Like Bjork, Hafdis hails from Iceland.

Unlike Bjork, Huld’s music is bubbly, folky. Almost Hawaiian in influence. Definitely stoner music! Think Jack Johnson.

Enjoy the delightful Tomoko and Who Loves The Sun below.

David Beckham's blogging thing!

The soccer stud is regularly reaching out to his fans, almost twice a week.

David just posted the following message on his official blog:

“TUESDAY AUG 21

After playing for an hour against D.C. United on Wednesday, it was brilliant to play the full ninety minutes against Red Bull New York, especially as it was my first full MLS game. On top of being given the honour of captain again, I managed to set up a few goals, which obviously, was a great feeling even though we were really unfortunate to concede a late goal and lose the game. The atmosphere at the Giants’ stadium was incredible, and there was a huge turnout for the match which really gave us all a fantastic buzz.

I’m not used to the harder ground out here, but being quite stubborn, I was determined to play the whole game and I’m glad that I did.

I’m still getting to know my team mates on the pitch and learning more about the way they play with every game, but I feel I’ve played a part over the past two fixtures and I’m really looking forward to future matches, starting with our derby against Chivas USA.

Whilst I was in New York, I also helped to support a soccer clinic at FC Harlem. The MLS has dedicated a field in Harlem for the team and adidas are providing the team kit for the club too. It was a really positive event and I enjoyed working and playing with the children there.

I’m currently in the UK training with the England Squad before the friendly with Germany on Wednesday. It was great to be called up and to be part of the set up is always an honour. Hopefully, I’ll get to play a part against Germany and if I do I’ll let you know how it goes here!

Speak to you soon.

David”
